You could visit the charming traditional little village of Villaviciosa. Gijón has an impressive aquarium, Cerro Santa Catalina is a hilltop park with panoramic views and Oviedo, the capital of the Principality of Asturias, is worth a day trip. The city has a beautiful, historic centre, El Fontán (traditional market square) and Plaza de la Catedral (cathedral square).
